Situated near the heart of Murcia, this traditional spot draws those looking for straightforward, quality Spanish fare in a lively, casual setting. Visitors often settle in for freshly sliced jamón, simple yet satisfying tapas, and a selection of wines and coffee that complement the food well. The atmosphere is warm and cozy, with a buzz typical of a busy daytime bar where locals and tourists alike gather for breakfast, lunch, brunch, or dinner.
The space accommodates a range of diners—from solo visitors enjoying a quick bite or great coffee to groups catching up over plates meant for sharing. It’s a place where you can watch everyday life unfold, whether seated indoors or at the outdoor tables, with attentive service that feels welcoming without being rushed. Those with mobility needs will appreciate the accessible entrances, restrooms, and seating, though parking requires using paid street options nearby.
While abundant options focus on traditional Murcian and Spanish dishes, vegetarian choices tend to be limited to salads, cheeses, and a few vegetable preparations. Because it gets quite busy, especially at peak times, making a reservation can help ensure a spot. Overall, this spot works well for those seeking an authentic local dining experience with a casual, unpretentious vibe in a bustling part of the city.

"Traditional Murcian bar with great food, service and drinks."
"We had very nice breakfast Recommend this place!"
"Dipping the bread in the sauce of this was delicious."
5 Very busy lunchtime bar. Basic good quality Spanish food. The jamon is freshly cut to order and tasted good. We have been 3 times now, the service is quick and efficient and at very reasonable prices. If you are a tourist this is an interesting bar to taste and watch how the locals eat. We don't normally book but better if you do as it gets very busy at times.
4 Traditional Murcian bar with great food, service and drinks. It's ideal for tapas with friends and shared dishes. There aren't many vegetarian options, mostly salads, cheese or the traditional green beans.
5 Great experience in Meson Don Jamon. My wife and I were just looking for an authentic tapas place and we certainly found it. The incredible "waitress" could not have been more helpful, she squeezed us in to a table although it was clearly busy, our table was already reserved with a post-it note :) .Our lack of Spanish did not help but she keenly suggested dishes to try. The potatoes were amazing, just simply presented, beautifully boiled potatoes, with some aioli. The Michirones dish (A Murcian speciality) she recommended was beautiful too, broad beans with chorizo flavour? Dipping the bread in the sauce of this was delicious. The ham was stunning, and the cheese complimented it very nicely. Simple food but done in an exceptional way. Very reasonably priced, and so friendly to us and clearly loved by the locals. Will certainly be back.
5 We were a group of around 13 people looking for a place to enjoy some tapas and have a good time, and we came across this spot. Everything was amazing: the Spanish omelette, salad with tuna, olives and boquerones, caballitos, jamón serrano, and cocido – all absolutely delicious. The service was the best: friendly, attentive, and made us feel right at home. We truly found a gem and will definitely be coming back for more. Highly recommended!
5 Soy clienta habitual y meson Don Jamón nunca falla.
No abre sábados y domingos.
Guests often enjoy freshly cut jamón, Spanish omelette, and traditional tapas like salads with tuna and green beans, paired with great coffee or wine.
It suits both quick stops and relaxed sit-down meals, with efficient service and a cozy atmosphere perfect for tasting shared small plates.
The place gets very busy at lunchtime and dinner, so booking ahead is recommended, especially on weekends or if you're part of a group.
